Daniel Island

Daniel Island is part of the city of Charleston but is a stand-alone, 4,000-acre master planned community situated between the Cooper and Wando Rivers. Interestingly enough, it was annexed in its entirety by Berkeley County. Daniel Island was previously owned by the Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation and once served as a farming, ranching and private hunting preserve. Today almost 10,000 residents live, work and play in Daniel Island, which offers a pedestrian-friendly downtown, traditional neighborhoods, hundreds of acres of parks & green space and a variety of residential properties. There are fitness centers, numerous tennis courts and neighborhood swimming pools for residents to enjoy.
