From her very first days at The College of Charleston in 1996, Kristyn Ackerman felt an undeniable connection to the Lowcountry. Raised in New Jersey, Kristyn originally pursued a career in health promotion after earning her degree in Charleston, but destiny had other plans. When she met her husband, Doug, an Ohio-born retired Chief from the United States Air Force, she anticipated a lot of relocation in her future—and she was right! Doug’s service brought them to Hawaii and then North Carolina, where their children, Kaelyn and Lucas, were born.

Relocating soon became a significant chapter in Kristyn's life. From Hawaii and North Carolina, to Delaware and then Sumter, South Carolina, each move honed her expertise in navigating the intricate logistics and the emotional aspects of moving, buying, and selling properties, especially with kids and pets and extended family along for the ride. Recognizing this unique skill set, Kristyn transitioned to real estate in 2015, channeling her firsthand experience to guide families, particularly first-time homebuyers and military households, through seamless and rewarding transitions of their own.

Now, with roots firmly planted in Mt. Pleasant and her family—including her parents and sister—cherishing life in the Lowcountry, Kristyn's focus remains unwavering on the value of relationships. Family isn't just a bond but a virtue for her. Just as she invited her family to share in her newfound lifestyle and community, Kristyn shares a piece of her heart and the charm of Charleston with every client. Creating authentic connections and placing others' needs at the forefront has been the cornerstone of her thriving, referral-based real estate business.
